Hi Ben and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! 🍁
We live in Alberta in Canada and I came across your floor sanding Instagram and am so sorry you live in London. A tad far for you to come help with my red hardwood floors. They are from 2008 and have lots of cracks and deep scratches. Love to sand it down to a different color but we did have someone come in and he said he could but when he would put on a clear coat it would go back to red.
Love to have your insight into this
Hi Monica, its true, its very difficult to get over the red. However there are products that are available to block out the red (or neutralise it somewhat). For example, Bona has “Red Out.” Its not available here so im not too sure about it, I do know that people have issues with the first coat and then putting another coat of the red out on again seems to resolve it. Good luck with it!
